American Idol started this week with the addition of Steven Tyler and J-Lo. I really thought Tyler was going to be the next Simon but it looks like J-Lo may have him beat for the role of hard ass. Steven has demonstrated a much "softer" side than I was expecting in the first few shows.

After thinking about it, I guess this makes sense because after all he is a musician and artist, not just a producer like Simon. Listening to his feedback reminded of this performance with one of my other favorite guys, Chris Botti. Tyler dedicates the Charlie Chaplin, feel good, standard "Smile" to his father sitting into he first row. Pretty cool...
